Motivation Self-Assessment

Use this checklist to help you evaluate your level of motivation.

Nothing I do could make a difference.

People around me don’t expect anything of me, so I don’t expect anything either.

I have a slight feeling of motivation toward recovery.

Sometimes I think of things that I might want to do and get a little excited, but then I can’t seem to do anything about it.

I have several things I am thinking about trying, and I’m thinking of moving on them soon.

I have started to develop a plan of how I can get some things accomplished, and now I’m gathering ideas, supports, and resources.

I have definite goals for my life and a clear plan of what I want to do.

I am exerting myself now and beginning to move towards what I want.

I am well underway and moving firmly towards my goals.

I have accomplished so much in my recovery that I am sharing my excitement with others to motivate them.
